North Dakota

This last week we flew and visited my parents in Cando.We spent a whole week there. My Sister and I and the kids went. The kids have been missing them so much and had been counting down the days till we were going to see them.

 

Here we are getting ready to get on the plane.

 

We flew into Fargo late that night so we decided to head to the Fargo Zoo before we headed to my parents house.

It was more of a domesticated zoo. There weren't very many exotic animals. The boys still loved seeing all the animals

We then headed to Cando. My parents house is the white one on the left. This is one of many walks that we had. It was nice that they lived right in the middle of town so we could just walk everywhere. The weather was perfect (except the last day when the blizzard hit and delayed our plane for 8 hrs).

On Saturday my Dad took us fishing at Devil's Lake. They had been scouting out fishing spots for weeks for us. The found a spot that was perfect for a picnic and fishing plus had a playground

We also went to a pumpkin patch and let the boys pick out their own pumpkins

 

They decided that they wanted to paint them instead of carve them.

 

My parents have a really cool cabin in their back yard. The boys loved playing in it and also got to spend the night with Grandma in it.

Hallow's campout 2012

The first part of August was our annual Hallow's family campout. They have been having this campout long before I was even born so it is a long standing tradition. We always have so much fun when we all get together. We were so glad that my Mom was able to come down from North Dakota but it wasn't the same without my Dad there. Morgan was busy farming so he wasn't able to make it either. The boys had a blast playing with their cousins.

These 3 boys have so muh fun together. They loved throwing rocks and sticks in river.

Halloween 2011

This year the boys were a deer and moose. My talented mom made these costumes and they turned out CUTE!!! We went to the Pleasant View Carnival and then the Trunk or Treat at the church and called that good. And of course I didn't take any pictures at either of those places.

Boys 4 Year Pics

I took the boys up above Mancos to take their 4 year pictures last weekend and they didn't turn out too bad. The boys actually kinda cooperated. Thanks for being such good sports Wyatt and Lancer! Morgan said that it looked weird having the boys hold hands and put their arms around each other but I think it's cute, at least when they are this age. I do think it would look weird with like 8 year olds holding hands and hugging! Haha

It was nice to take a drive up there and see all the trees changing colors and spend some time with the boys.

Hallows Family Campout 2011

August 4-7 was the annual Hallows Family Campout up to Sheep Valley (up by Fish Lake in Utah). It was fun as usual and it actually didn't rain-which is very unusual!! It seemed to fly by especially fast this year but it was so fun to see all the cousins and family. Wyatt and Lancer had a great time. It was interesting to see how they interacted with all the people there. Lancer was the shy one and played by himself most of the time while Wyatt was the outgoing one and always had to be in the middle of a crowd, heck I didn't know where he was half the time cause he would just go off with the older cousins. Maybe Lancer just has a great imagination and can entertain himself while Wyatt needs to be entertained! I didn't take a ton of pictures but here are a few photos from the fun weekend.

So we like to have different types of competitions at the campout and this year we did tug-a-war. We split up into families and competed against each other. The Christensen Clan dominated!!!!! (Susan if your reading this-tell Brent he still owes us that $100, ha ha just kidding)

And their off....They were so excited for the races and have been practicing up and down the field while we change water for weeks! but when it came down to it, Wyatt and Lancer were too busy pushing each other, making sure the other didn't win instead of just running!!! We'll have to work on that before next year.
